About Us ITEC Programme

ITEC Programme, instituted in 1964 is Government of India´s flagship capacity building initiative. Under ITEC and its sister programme Special Commonwealth African Assistance Programme (SCAAP), working professionals from 161 countries in Asia, Africa, East Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean as well as Pacific and Small Island Countries are offered unique training courses in different centers of excellence in India.

As a result of different activities under this programme, there is now a visible and growing awareness among other countries about the competence of India as a provider of technical know-how and expertise as well as training opportunities, consultancy services and feasibility studies. These activities have generated immense goodwill and substantive cooperation among the developing countries.

Who Can Apply: Eligibility Criteria

Officials in Government, Semi-Government, Public Sector/Parastatal organisations and Universities/ Schools. Professionals from Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Private Sector and members/employees of NGOs and non-profit organisations. An applicant interested in a course under the ITEC programme should meet the following requirements:

  • Should meet the academic or other requirements set by the Institute for the course s/he is interested in
  • Should be 25 to 45 years old
  • Should have a work experience of a minimum of 5 years
  • Should have a working knowledge of English
  • Should be medically fit

How to Apply for a Course under the ITEC Programme

  • Follow the instructions under the ‘Apply for ITEC’ section on the ITEC website https://itecgoi.in. Fill up the online application form.
  • Print the filled application form and complete the sections of the applications on English Proficiency, Medical Report, and the Undertaking. You also need to attach the copies of certificates of your education, English proficiency and Yellow Fever vaccination (not required for applicants from Uruguay).
  • After completing the steps above, you need to send your application to the Embassy of India, Buenos Aires, Argentina through the following offices of the governments in your respective countries:

e-ITEC / ITECOnline


e-ITEC is a modality of ITEC programme wherein training is imparted in partner countries by Indian Institutes online in real time. Under e-ITEC, the classrooms are shifted to our partner countries and tailor made courses are delivered by Indian faculties online / through video conferencing.
