Yoga is essentially a millenary spiritual discipline originating in India and based on an extremely subtle science that aims towards harmony of mind and body. It is an art and a science for healthy living. The word yoga has its roots in the Sanskrit language, yuj which means "to unite".


The science of Yoga is millenary, it appears long before the first religion or belief. According to Yogic Tradition, Shiva has been seen as the first yogi or adiyogi and the first guru or ardiguru. Thousands of years ago, at Lake Kantisarovar in the Himalayas, adiyoga brought his profound knowledge of the legendary saptarishis or "seven sages." These sages carried their powerful yogic science to different parts of the world including Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and South America. Interestingly, current scholars have noted and marveled at the close parallels found between ancient cultures around the world. However, it was in India that the yogic system found its full expression.


Yoga has spread to all parts of the planet, thanks to the teachings of great teachers from ancient times to the present day. Today, everyone is convinced of the practice of Yoga for the prevention of diseases and to maintain and improve health. Millions and millions of people around the world have benefited from this practice and in this way this discipline is growing day by day in all parts of the world and more and more vibrant.


In order to share the benefits offered by Yoga, the Embassy launched Yoga classes in Presential and Virtual mode - Completely Free.




A) VIRTUAL CLASSES: (August to October)


Hatha Yoga - Initial Course: Tuesday from 9 to 10 am

Hatha Yoga - Intermediate Course: Thursday from 9 to 10 am

Course on Yoga Theory: Saturday from 9 to 10 am

B) PRESENTIAL CLASSES: (August to October)

Hatha Yoga - Initial Course: Monday or Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Location: Embassy of India (Av. Eduardo Madero 942 – Piso 19)

Frequency: Once a week

About the instructor PATRICIA EDITH VAGLIO


Born on 4 January 1966, Patricia began studying Yoga in 1990. She went to India for the first time in 1993 when she joined Bihar School of Yoga in Munger for a two month course, thus experiencing ashram life for the first time. Thereafter Patricia took numerous journeys to India for numerous residential, certification courses under the tutelage of renowned Yoga experts. Patricia has over 30 years of experience teaching Yoga.
