Application for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
PCC is not exactly a Passport Service. PCC is a requirement of foreign governments for grant of immigration/ work/residence/family visa/permit.
PCC can be issued only after receipt of a ‘Clear’ report from Police authorities in India. This process may take upto 8 weeks. Please note that there is no guarantee that PCC will be issued within the indicated time frame, as it is dependent on the receipt of a ‘Clear’ report from authorities in India. Thus, applicants should apply for PCC well in-advance.
PCC for Indian Nationals
Steps to apply for PCC:-
Visit the https://mportal.passportindia.gov.in/gpsp
Choose the country Argentina (listed under AMERICAS region)
Register by clicking on "Register" Link. It will prompt you to activate your registration by clicking on the link received in your registered e-mail ID.
Login with the registered login ID and Password on "User Login" link
In the Applicant Home Page, click select the appropriate category of service to be applied and file a new application
Applicants must upload photograph and a signature. Applications without the photograph and signature uploaded will not be processed. The photographs must comply with ICAO standards. Applicants are required to upload the documents in portal at the time of filling in the application. Read the instructions for the photographs and documents HERE. (Link for ICAO )
After successful submission of application, take a printout of the online submitted form, affix photo and append signature in the designated space on the application form.

Document required for applying PCC
- Under normal circumstances, the following documents are required for applying to issue or re-issue an Indian passport:
- Copy of Indian Passport
- Proof of address in Argentina
- Two photographs of 5x5 size with white background
- Copy of visa/stay permit/MRE issued by the Government of Argentina
- Copy of DNI
- Copy of PAN Card (optional)
- Copy of Aadhar Card (optional)
PCC for foreign nationals and foreign passport holders
Processing Time
PCC can be issued only after receipt of a ‘Clear’ report from Police authorities in India which is to be made available in the system by the concerned Passport office. This process may take 6-8 weeks. PCC can be issued earlier provided a ‘Clear’ report is received. Please note that there is no guarantee that PCC will be issued within the indicated time frame, as it is purely related to receipt of a ‘Clear’ report from authorities. After Police Verification, the report is sent by Police authorities for uploading purpose to the Regional Passport Office (RPO) concerned [applicant get to know at this stage that his police verification has been done], however, its transmission to RPO and its uploading by RPO in the system takes about 7-10 days.
Payment of Passport, Visa & Consular Fees
The Embassy of India in Buenos Aires will now only accept payments for Passport, Visa, and other Consular services via bank transfer. Cash payments at the counter are no longer accepted with immediate effect.

- Particulars: Your Surname/Name
- Code: Type of service (e.g. PASSPORT / OCI / VISA / PCC / RENUNCIATION / OTHERS)
- Reference: Your Application File Number or ARN Number
Additional Guidelines
- A printed copy of the payment confirmation must be submitted along with your application.
- If applying for multiple services, please make separate payments for each, using different reference numbers.
- Applications must be submitted to the Embassy within 7 working days of making the payment.
