Speech by Mr. Ajaneesh Kumar, Ambassador (Designate) of India to Argentina at the launch of the Mphasis Latin America on 5th June 2025

Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,

It is indeed a great honour for me to join you today for this important event: the launch of Mphasis’ regional office for Latin America, here in the city of Buenos Aires. In fact, it is my 1st official engagement, and that too is to celebrate the arrival of an Indian tech company in Argentina!!

Mphasis is a global technology services company headquartered in Bangalore, India, with a net worth exceeding USD 7 billion and a presence in over 20 countries. Renowned for its leadership in cloud solutions, artificial intelligence, and cognitive services, Mphasis serves Fortune 500 companies across sectors such as Banking, Insurance, Logistics, and Telecommunications. The opening of this office is not just a business expansion—it is a strategic commitment to Argentina and the region.

This decision is a clear sign of the confidence in Argentina’s talent, infrastructure and growth potential. That a company of this magnitude chooses to lead its regional operations from Buenos Aires sends a strong message about the role Argentina can play in the new digital economy. In addition, it strengthens the constantly growing bridge between our two nations.

India is proud to be Argentina’s fourth-largest trading partner and reaffirms its commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across all sectors. We see great opportunities for collaboration in strategic sectors such as mining, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, defence, energy and perhaps the champagne moment of this evening, technology and innovation. In the world of startups and digital services, India is a global leader, and we are confident that Argentina can become a key partner in this path.

India also seeks to position itself as a natural partner in training, capacity-building, and knowledge transfer. Through government initiatives, scholarship programs, innovation centers, and technical cooperation, we have historically invested in global talent development. As a hub and exporter of IT services, India stands ready to collaborate with Argentina not only commercially, but also in creating a shared ecosystem of innovation, skills, and opportunity.

I would like to once again congratulate the Mphasis team led by Ms Deepa Nagaraj, Senior Vice President & Head -ESG, Sparkle Innovation Ecosystem and Communications, for their forward-looking vision and thank all those who made this project possible. We hope this partnership continues to grow and strengthen—for the benefit of both our peoples.
